Did you Know?
The directors live in the lodge full-time...
Bill and Stacy Spencer, executive directors, have made Narrow Gate's bed-and-breakfast-style lodge their home. Young men have the opportunity to get to know the directors intimately, especially once they move into the lodge at the end of their stay.

Ryan "Rhino" Behrendsen's Home-going

7/27/2010 12:35:51 PM

Ryan "Rhino" BehrendsenOn July 24, 2010 Narrow Gate celebrated the home-going of one of its own.  Ryan Behrendsen of Ft. Wayne, Ind., was called home to heaven after 24 years of life on this earth.  A large crowd of family and friends gathered together last Saturday to celebrate the memory of times shared together and to tell stories of the joyful, dedicated man that they call friend.

His time on this earth serves as a reminder that life is more accurately measured by the impact it has on others rather than by the volume of its minutes.  A “short” life should never be mistaken for an incomplete life.  Ryan’s smile, perseverance and love for God infected everyone he encountered, and we will anxiously await the day when we are physically rejoined with him and our Savior, Jesus.  See you soon, Rhino!

Mission Trip to Narrow Gate: Betenbough Homes

6/7/2010 4:00:29 PM

Jerrod and Josh working on Moses campsiteLast week a group of 23 from Betenbough Homes ventured to Narrow Gate in order to serve on our property. Betenbough Foundation, the giving arm of the Lubbock, Texas-based construction company, awarded Narrow Gate a grant last August then asked if employees and their families could come and help out. While on the property, the men completed work projects such as tearing down the old forge and improving our campsites. The women and children worked in the garden and office and helped prepare meals each day. We are so grateful for the generosity of Betenbough Homes and the group's hard work during their stay here! If you have a group that is interested in volunteering at Narrow Gate, please contact Allie Davis at allie@narrowgatefoundation.org.
