Going Out 2X2

What is it?
The men of Narrow Gate – including staff members, recent graduates, and soon-to-be graduates – go out 2x2 into the community and share their life-changing experiences, with a special focus on their time at Narrow Gate.

While each man has a unique faith story to share, all Narrow Gate students and graduates share one Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus Christ living in and through them as they seek to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. As the 2x2 Teams speak, you’ll learn how each young man was rescued from a life of rapid destruction, transformed and now is living out God’s unique plan for his life.

If you would like to learn more about 2x2 Teams or to schedule a 2x2 Team at your next group gathering, contact Wanda Stone at (931) 583-0633 or wanda@narrowgatefoundation.org.

Highlights from Previous 2x2 Sharing Encounters

March 8, 2006 – Christ Presbyterian School, Brentwood, TN – Staff Member Adam Stoner and current student Fred Beasley shared how God has profoundly impacted their lives since they came to Narrow Gate. Each of these young men had attended the school during their high-school years and were know for being unruly and disruptive. According to one teacher there, “This was our best Chapel service ever. The students are still talking about how much Adam and Fred have changed and how apparent God was in their lives. We’re going to have Narrow Gate speak more often.”

March 5, 2006
– Passages Sunday School Class, Brentwood United Methodist Church, Brentwood, TN – Rob Rogers and Adam Stoner shared with the Passages Sunday School class their life experiences, the process of their transformations and how they were to led to discover what God has intended for each of them. They described that soon after they let God take control of their lives, they began to enjoy living everyday as the true “wilderness” adventure God intended it to be – an adventure uniquely designed especially for them. After years of living a life filled with destruction, Rob and Adam said they found themselves surrounded by loving friends and concerned family, and, through a miracle of God, co-founded the Narrow Gate Foundation just a little more than two years ago.

Starting with little more than a burning passion ignited by a Spirit of love and a desire to help other young men, Rob and Adam talked about how God has grown Narrow Gate Foundation to minister to men from all across the country. For the better part of 45 minutes, more than 40 members of the Passages Sunday School Class heard Adam and Rob share from their hearts their love for others and how God is working though them and Narrow Gate to minister to other young men.

Update:
Since the Narrow Gate visit to Passages, several members of the class have remarked just how impressed they are with Narrow Gate Foundation. One member remarked, “I have not been able to get them off my mind ever since…I believe so much in what they’re doing, Narrow Gate will now be my charity of choice."

January 20, 2006
– “Home-boys” Men’s Group, Brentwood United Methodist Church, Brentwood, TN – Will Campbell and Adam Stoner shared their personal faith stories, presented an overview of the Narrow Gate six-level program on CD, and talked about their experiences at Narrow Gate, including Will’s final adventure: his 100-mile hike on the Appalachian Trail. Will closed the meeting with a moving rendition of his original poem called “The Warrior’s Son”.

Following Adam and Will’s heart-felt time with the group, all of the 15 “Home-boys” members were touched by the 2x2 visit, so much so that they have become active supporters of Narrow Gate.

January 29, 2006
– Clearview Baptist Church, Sunday School Class – Nathan Day and Eric "Texas Rick" Lanham discussed how they had fallen in love with Jesus while at Narrow Gate and how this love was changing them daily into warriors for God’s Kingdom.
